JIVAMUKTI YOGA WEEKEND
WITH JENNIFER & BEN (EN)
Jennifer & Ben Beirs
"Jennifer a Ben jsou pro mě naprosto dokonalým propojením klidu. Ona učí jin jógu a on Jivamukti jógu. Ona je milovnice zvířat a veganka a on muzikant. Možná některé písně budete znám i z mých playlistů. Odkaz zde."
AROMA & YIN XL-CLASS WITH JENNIFER (18:30 - 20:30)
This extra-long Yin yoga class will be inspired by the beautiful season of winter, where all animals go into a deep winter sleep. The basic principles of Yin yoga will guide our practice and we will relax into poses for 2-5 minutes, allowing time for each pose to penetrate deep into the connective tissue while cultivating mindfulness and well being, while being supported by the healing aroma of therapeutic-quality essential oils.
The profound effects of yin yoga coupled with aromatherapy will help bring your mind, body, and spirit into balance and leave you feeling calm, centered, and rejuvenated. This special 120-minute class is designed to engage your senses and help you to find inner calm and relaxation. You’ll leave with a deep sense of stillness and tranquility.
This class will be held in English - All levels are welcome!
JIVA & YIN WORKSHOP: NO MUD NO LOTUS (15:00 - 18:00)
The path of Yoga, which means union, is paradoxically both a path of effort and relaxation. Yoga is not what we do, it’s who we are - it’s the state where nothing is missing. Sometimes we might experience this state, and other times we might feel the opposite - disconnected, anxious, or bent out of shape. Sometimes we need to apply virya - heroic effort - to our path, and sometimes we need to just rest in the great expanse of who we truly are, which goes by many names, but is really beyond all description. Through this practice, may we experience that!
In this class we will experience both sides of this yogic path - that of effort, yang or solar energy with a Jivamukti yoga practice led by Ben, and that of being, yin or lunar energy, led by Jennifer, while you will be serenaded with live music by Ben.
In becoming more familiar with both the yin and yang aspects of ourselves, we are exercising the ability to discern between effort and effortlessness, and when to skilfully apply them.
We invite you to chant with us, move your energy, let go of stress and tension and allow you to release into a deep state of being - being who you truly are.
This workshop will be held in English - all levels welcome!
KIRTAN (19:00 - 21:00)
Practicing the physical postures (asana) is one component of Yoga, or union, but not the only path by far! The path of Bhakti Yoga (Union through devotion or love) is also a powerful gateway to connection with the divine, or with one’s highest potential. It has many names, and in Kirtan we have a chance to sing them together, harmonising our voices and resting in that peaceful vibration. All are welcome, no singing experience or special musical abilities required!
Your donations are welcome. All proceeds will be transferred to an animal sanctuary outside of Berlin.
JIVAMUKTI XL OPEN CLASS WITH BEN (14:30 - 16:30)
Ben offers an accessible, uplifting class, emphasising healthy movement, mindfulness, and deep relaxation. Ben is an experienced teacher, both in yoga and music, and provides clear, precise instruction, as well as lightheartedness - as his teacher, Lama Surya Das often says, “we need to lighten up if we want enlightenment!” Yoga does not mean handstand, or full split. Yoga means union, and through his unique approach, Ben hopes to uplift and guide his students to that “state where nothing is missing,” and raise the vibration, and our vision, so that we may become fully immersed in the practice itself, and let go of striving to obtain anything at all. Emaho! Swaha! This is it! Let’s go 🙂
This class will be held in English - All levels are welcome!

BEN & JENNIFER BEIRS
Ben Beirs is an American musician and yoga teacher who has been living in Europe since 2013. Although Ben is a professionally-trained classical guitarist who still teaches and performs, he has always made time to meet, learn from, and practice with many yoga and meditation teachers over the years. He took his first Yoga class when he was a teenager, later met his mentor and spiritual guide, Lama Surya Das, with whom he has completed numerous silent, intensive meditation retreats. As a musician, Ben had the wonderful opportunity to travel and perform music across three continents, which broadened his mind and also taught him the importance of a regular spiritual practice, as a way to be at home in whichever country or culture he found himself in. After moving to Paris in 2013, the wish to deepen his yoga and meditation practice manifested in his first 200-hour teacher training, which he completed in July 2014 at the Asheville Yoga Center. He began teaching Yoga in Paris in 2015 and taught hundreds of yoga classes in numerous studios in Paris, finding it to be a complement to his spiritual practice and his creative path as a musician. Wishing to deepen his practice and teaching skills, he returned to Omega Institute in May of 2016 where he completed a 300-hour Jivamukti teacher training. After meeting his future wife, Jennifer, in Paris, they moved to Berlin in 2018, and shortly after he completed a 500-hour mentorship at Jivamukti Yoga Berlin. Ben brings a candid, joyful, yet clear approach to teaching, and through the influence of mentors both musical and spiritual, encourages others to integrate yoga, meditation, and creativity into their daily lives, for the benefit of one and all. He lives with his wife Jennifer and their two cats in Berlin, where he teaches guitar and yoga.
Jennifer Beirs, born and raised in Berlin, decided to leave the corporate world in 2012. Since then she traveled the world and discovered Yoga in 2015 in Paris, where she lived for 6 years. She fell in love with the Jivamukti Yoga method and has been practicing it ever since. Being a vegan, she admired the deep connection to animal rights protection and environmental activism that Sharon Gannon and David Life advocate as their core principles. She completed her 200-hour RYT at the Asheville Yoga Center where she fell in love with Yin & Restorative Yoga. Nothing pleases Jennifer more than sharing what she loves with others and helping them to discover balance and healing in their own lives and on their own plates. Because of this, she studied vegan nutrition and is passionate about cooking for yoga retreats and other settings. Jennifer moved back to Berlin in 2018, where she is currently studying aromatherapy and massage. Since Bhakti Yoga is a big part of her personal practice, she includes chanting and music in all her classes. During the year, Jennifer offers several Emaho! Yoga Retreats with her husband Ben, where she can joyfully bring all of her passions together.
